• The Wood County Historical Society is a community organization that makes connections between our past, present and future by capturing stories and cultivating memories of Wood County, Ohio and the County Home.
  • The Society operates within the Wood County Historical Center & Museum, which is managed jointly by the Wood County Commissioners Doris I. Herringshaw, Ed.D - President; Craig LaHote - Vice President, & Dr. Theodore H. Bowlus - Member; and the Wood County Park District.

  • The Society is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors
  • Our history thrives with support from the community in the form of donations to the collections and membership.
  • We take pride in the preservations efforts that made us what we are today. You can show your pride too! May is National Preservation month, so join us in the THIS PLACE MATTERS campaign!
