Relive the heritage of our county as reenactors, lost arts demonstrations,
historical renditions, and guest speakers bring the past to life. Please join us for a full weekend of celebration! Follow the timeline from native people to pioneers to modern developments as you learn to dip candles, make your own rope, or taste something unusual, but delicious.
During the weekend, the Power
of Yesteryear hosts its annual Antique Farm and Tractor
Show with restored & non-restored tractors, gas engines,
and farm equipment. Events include a kiddie pedal pull, oil field
and farm demonstrations, and a tractor parade. This long-standing
tradition brings out farm enthusiasts young and old.

Criteria
The Wood County Heritage Days mission:
Wood County Heritage Days is an educational event and social celebration sponsored by the Wood County Historical Society to promote the historical center and to educate the public about Wood County’s history including past and present events, achievements, people, and culture.
We encourage all participants, reenactors as well as county agencies, to present some aspect of history: demonstrate your talent for the lost arts by weaving or flint napping, tell your stories of days-gone-by as a costumed interpreter, educate the public about the origin of your organization and how its presence has impacted Wood County, or educate with games and hands-on activities.
LOST ARTS DEMONSTRATORS provide a hands-on approach to
the lost arts. Rope making, flint knapping, and soap making are
just a few of the talents that are fun to do.
REENACTORS bring the past to life. Native
Indian, Civil War, and other groups set up camp and relive our
history before your very eyes. Reenactors often demonstrate lost
arts as well.
COMMUNITY GROUP & COUNTY AGENCIES show how our county is thriving and serving our community today.
FOOD VENDORS. We encourage food vendors to apply who have an authentic pioneer
or hand-made approach to their craft.
ENTERTAINMENT. A variety of talents assemble throughout the weekend. From Dulcimers
to bluegrass, this event examines how music helped fuel our history.
