SUMMARY:The Great Depression Lecture Series - "A New Deal: FDR\, Bureaucracy\, and Economic Recovery"
DESCRIPTION:The Great Depression Lecture Series – “A New Deal: FDR\, Bureaucracy\, and Economic Recovery”\nApril 1 | 6:00PM\nWood County Museum Meeting Room\nFREE \nThe election of Franklin D. Roosevelt\, in 1932\, was seen as a turning point in the fight against the Great Depression. His campaign\, which promised a “New Deal” for the American people\, stood in stark contrast to the failures of the previous administration. But how successful FDR’s visions for the future of economic recovery were yet to be seen. In this lecture\, we will explore the earliest days of the New Deal\, focusing specifically on the creation of new federal agencies and relief programs initiated by FDR’s administration. In doing so\, we will discuss the national and local implications of such measures and how they were received by the American people. \nThis is the fourth installment in the Great Depression Lecture Series\, an America 250 program. This is a Wood County Park District lead event\, in partnership with the Wood County Museum.

SUMMARY:America250 Lecture Series – Historic U.S. R.T. 6
