Amidst the Great Depression, the โDust Bowl,โ a devastating ecological crisis, wreaked havoc on farmers and residents across the western United States. These conditions spurred increased federal attention to issues facing the nationโs farmers and ecology. In this sixth installment of the Great Depression Lecture Series, we will examine how these conditions came to be and what efforts were undertaken by New Deal administrators.
This is the sixth installment in the Great Depression Lecture Series, an America 250 program. This is a Wood County Park District lead event, in partnership with the Wood County Museum.
