Hello everyone. Curator Holly here asking for help. My call for help is to locate photos of these specific former service members. (We know this photo is Boyd Crawford, but this is an example of the type of photos we are looking for.)
🚨📸 WE NEED PHOTOS OF THE PEOPLE LISTED BELOW📸🚨
• Alvin Beverly: he grew up in Toledo, but his wife Mary Canterbury was a native of Portage. Alvin passed away in 1975. He and Mary had three children: Kathryn, Karen, and Gary.
• James H. Boltz: was born on Feb 23, 1910 in Mungen. Research has led me to the Yenour family of North Baltimore. According to James’ obituary he had a daughter named Patricia Boltz Yenour. She lived in Cygnet when James passed away in 1978, a son Wayne. Does anyone know Patricia to let her know I am searching for a photo of James?
• Francis M. Dahms: born in 1914 in Bowling Green. In 1945 Francis married Kathryn Needles Fish. They had a son named Robert. During the war he served in the Army Air Corps.
• Russell Filier: born in Rudolph in 1909 and was the oldest of 7 children. Russell served in the Navy during WWII - a crew member of the USS Monssen. Russell and his wife Lucille did not have any children.
• Merle Flamm: was a member of the 1948 physics department at BGSU. He married Thelma Coven in 1952 and the couple did not have any children.
• Elmer G. Gault: His nickname was Red. Elmer was born in 1913 in Hoytville and worked as a mechanic at Ralph Thayer Chevrolet and Dickey’s Hardware Store.
• Leonard Gilles: born in 1916 and had a sister Gertrude and brothers Albert and Louis. Leonard grew up in Perrysburg. He married Helen Clements in 1941 and the couple had no children.
• Harold Gonyer: born in 1924 in Hammansburg, Harold had a brother named William and two sisters: Dorothy and Thelma. He married Donna Loe in 1946, after her passing in 1966 he married Ruth Blake. The couple did not have children.
• Jack Hutchinson born in Toledo in 1924. He married Vivian Witte in 1956 & had two sons: Robert and Thomas.

To celebrate National Milk Day we are featuring our collection of milk bottles. Long before plastic jugs were used, glass bottles of fresh milk were delivered by a local milk man. These 8 milk bottles of varying sizes are from all over NW Ohio region: Jersey Farm in Trilby, Model Dairy in Bowling Green, Sani-Pure Milk in Findlay, Biehler Dairy in North Baltimore, Babcock Dairy in Toledo, Napoleon Creamery Co. in Napoleon, G.H.Russell Dairy in Fostoria, and Kelly's Dairy in North Baltimore.

Thank you to Margaret Hartman Grigsby and Harold Bechtel for donating these bottles of milk history to the Collections at the Wood County museum.
