#weddingwednesday : January 22, 1994 - The marriag #weddingwednesday : January 22, 1994 - The marriage of Emily Vanek & Allen Snyder

Emily was born in Pemberville, Ohio to Marjorie (Osborn) & Elwood Vanek. The family consisted of 4 daughters including Alice, Sara, & Patty. Emily graduated in 1987 from Eastwood High School.

Allen was born in Bowling Green, Ohio to Edith (Lowe) & Robert Snyder. The family moved a lot and Allen graduated in 1985 from East Noble High School. Allen has an older sister named Laurie.

After high school Allen went into the Air Force. Meanwhile his parents moved back to Middleton Township in Wood County, Ohio.

One night Allen had a party at his house. Emily attended the party with a friend of one of Allen’s roommates. As time went by, Allen and Emily would see each other at tractor shows and parties. Emily was out one night with her friend Julie, who was dating Allen’s friend Eric. Allen and Eric were also out that night and Emily and Julie ran into them at a downtown Bowling Green bar called Cassidy's. Eric and Julie left Allen with Emily and within the week they started dating.

In 1993, Allen asked Emily to marry him at a Toledo Mud Hens game.

Emily's dress, as well as her mother Marjorie's dress, and 40+ others are part of our wedding exhibit, "Allure & Illusion: A Rose Colored Romance". Once we reopen come see these beautiful dresses đź’Ť
