Donations, Donations, Donations!

It is that time of year. SPRING/SUMMER cleaning + the Wood County Museum = wonderful additions to our permanent collections.

Curator Holly here! 🤪 Former Pemberville native Jan Sarver graciously donated items once belonging to the Welling and Hahn families to the museum this past month. The first step is to assign all items an accession number while simultaneously creating the Instrument of Gift (this is the legally binding document giving ownership of items to the museum). Next our Registrar Alex will make sure to get everything documented in our collections management database Catalog It.

#poorfarmfriday - The three-story, 53 room brick b

#poorfarmfriday - The three-story, 53 room brick building operated from 1859 to 1963 and was located four miles from Lima.... In 1963, when the original Allen County Infirmary closed, it was voted to demolish the original building. This barn remains on the former infirmary site.
