Sneak peek 👀 The text panels are here! Which means Sneak peek 👀
The text panels are here! Which means we are in the final stage of installation for the new exhibit, "Past into the Future", opening May 7!

Special thanks to Abby Bender & BG Graphics Company for helping us make it happen as we celebrate America 250-Ohio.
We're back out in our beautiful communities for #T We're back out in our beautiful communities for #TBT! This week, we will be highlighting Custar! Custar was originally called Lewisburg after its proprietor, Mr. Fredrick Lewis. The Village was platted in 1865 and incorporated as Custar in 1881, after the name of its post office.

Photo 1: Postcard of the CH & D Train Depot, n.d. The Cincinnati, Hamilton and Dayton Railway (CH & D) was a railroad based in Ohio that existed between 1846-1917.

Photo 2: Custar House, a Hotel, n.d. In a newspaper article we found, it stated that the Custar House had “first class” rooms for $1 per day back in 1900. Today, you can see that this building has been torn down and is now greenspace.

Photo 3: A large building on Superior Street, n.d. The building still stands today, with just the small tower on top missing.

Photo 4: E.H. Robinson Blacksmith Shop, n.d. This shop specialized in horse shoeing and repairs. As you can see, it is still standing today!

Where should we go next? Let us know in the comments!

🌟EXHIBIT UPDATE🌟 Curator, Holly Kirkendall, is ge 🌟EXHIBIT UPDATE🌟

Curator, Holly Kirkendall, is getting everything clean and ready for the new "Past! Into the Future" exhibit. That includes the objects themself! She uses a special conservation soap (photo 2) to gently clean each object. For wooden objects, they get a wax polish.

"Past! Into the Future", Explore objects that tell stories about Wood County community members. America’s 250 years of transformation and growth would not have been possible without the contributions of everyday people.
